IntroductionThe Interiors Group has appointed an Environmental Manager, Anthony Doyle, who oversees environmental issues both in the office and on site. As part of the ongoing commitment to minimise the environmental impacts of our business activities we have implemented the following initiatives: ISO14001 ![]() ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of activities, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review. In order to obtain registration you must demonstrate high environmental standards and compliance with all relevant legislation. The standard is certified by an independent 3rd party and is in use in 140 countries by nearly 130,000 organisations. The Interiors Group is certified to ISO14001 standard Registration Number 184257. Certificate Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method ![]() BREEAM is a globally recognised scheme that aims to quantify and reduce the environmental burdens of buildings by rewarding those designs that take positive steps to minimise their environmental impacts. Projects are assessed using a system of credits. The credits are grouped within the following categories:
Anthony Doyle is a qualified BREEAM Assessor and any fit out can be assessed against these criteria. Planet Positive ![]() Planet Positive status certifies that a business has measured and reduced the footprint of its services and products and offset the remainder beyond carbon neutral status. The Interiors Group is a Planet Positive Business and has offset its Carbon footprint by 110% We also offer Planet Positive Fit-Outs allowing clients to offset the carbon produced during the Fit-Out Process. Ecotrcity ![]() Ecotricity is a provider of renewable energy; these forms of energy don't involve any burning and offer a pollution-free, endless source of electricity, e.g. wind, solar, hydro and wave. For every pound customers spend on their electricity bills, Ecotricity spend a pound building new sources of green electricity. The Interiors Group sources all power from Ecotricity. Recycling & Reuse ![]() Our offices and sites recycle all possible material and all sites are run in line with Site Waste Management Plans that are now a legal requirement for construction projects over £300k. We utilise and promote the use of recycled materials, whenever possible, ensuring that materials are disposed of in an environmentally safe manner at the end of their useful life minimising landfill burden. We have developed a culture of reuse for on site equipment and materials. Canteen equipment and site office furniture that many companies dispose of at the end of projects is reused on other sites. Furthermore used samples and finishes are donated to local primary schools and nurseries to use in art projects helping develop the designers of tomorrow! Our initiatives have the full backing of all board members and staff and the Interiors Group will strive to maintain its high standards in this area.
